xx Block Busters story of the off season
« Thread started on: Sep 16th, 2008, 3:07pm »

Well it all started August 21st when we moved the lazy Viktor Kozlov to the Icekings for 2 draft picks in later years.
The draft came but we did not even show up as we had no picks and Family came 1st. My son is #1!!
Our next trade came on August 27th more of a move to help the Hurricanes to get under the Roster cap coming to us are Andrew Raycroft, Colin White, David Hale for a 2nd round pick.Raycroft will be on the farm trying to improve on his horrible season. White is a 5th deman on our team and Hale will be a fill in and a farmer for now. On the same day we moved Saku Koivu and Fredrik Sjostrom to the North Stars for Zbynek Michalek a move that improves our defense some more and looks like Zeb's will be playing with White.
On August 29th we did another trade with the Northstars leaving us is Peter Forsberg and coming our way was 3 5th round draft picks.
Then can the day the rocked the Jets On Sept 5th 6 players and 4 draft picks changed teams coming to us was Ed Jovanovski, Kyle Turris, Mikael Tellqvist, Tor 13 Rnd 3, Win 13 Rnd 3 and heading to the Enforcers was Evgeni Nabokov, Toni Lydman, Troy Brouwer, Min 14 Rnd 1, Win 15 Rnd 1. This trade was a major move for both teams Jovanoski gives us a good puck moving deman needed really bad. Prospect Kyle Turris what can we say he will be a superstar. Tellqvist becomes the teams backup to Brygzalov. Then 2 trades with the same team on Sept 14th. Gives us a gritty foward in Shane Doan who can score and will play with St louis and Jokinen required later. The other deal gave us Bryan Mcacbe in helps the Ice get under the Cap. going to the Ice was Marc Savard and Adam Foote.
Then yesterday came the 2nd block buster of the off season with the Sharks going to the Sharks are Keith Ballard, Radim Vrbata, TOR 3, WIN 3 and coming back to the Jets are Dan Boyle & Olli Jokinen. Getting Boyle will help our Defense as we so needed a passing deman for the PP Jokinen makes us bigger and deeper at foward. Losing ballard was the hardest part of this deal but after ballard was arrested lastweek in a hooker raid and also for pocession of coke and hash. We had to move him.
Jets Lines are looking better then when last season ended smiley

Line 2 Sturm Arnott Langkow Jovanovski Zanon

Good luck to all
